<reviews itemIdentifier="20040130-bbs-mthreat"><review><reviewbody>I wasn’t too terribly familiar with Minor Threat’s work prior to this interview. Why I downloaded it in the first place is beyond me, but I must say it was a wonderful walk down memory lane.

I got into hacking, phreaking and BBS’s in the mid-90’s and can definitely empathise with some of the issues and memories MT touches upon in this interview. “Remember pulse dialing?” he says. I couldn’t help laughing out loud – and thinking how many young people these days might not actually know what it is. Younger hackers & pirates cannot possibly appreciate the notion of broadband as they didn’t work their way up the modem ladder. It’s even funny to recall the ridiculous politics involved in the scene as early as that, and to know they’re still there is affirmation that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The interviewer presses more than a couple times about “memories” of MT’s which he either cannot call upon or just doesn’t want to share. Staring at a terminal for 18-hours a day has a way of melting one’s cortex so once again I can empathise with him. When all is said and done this was worth the time to download and the time to view. Thank you Jason.</reviewbody>
